#28 what is your sacrifice

The armchair enthusiast in all of us is exceptional at picking apart the actions of other people and we all develop at different rates, your experience is different than anyone elses, and why would you want it to be the same. There are only a few jobs that require commitment from you that is at a different level to that of an ordrinary job. And I am saying that an ordinary job is one where you log out, shut your laptop screen, turn off the monitor and sign off for the day and there is no expectation that you do anything productive in the way of contributing to the success of your business.

1) Entrepreneurship. Now this is small for the most part but if you are an entrepreneur there is a specific amount of hustle that is required from you to ensure that you have a livelihood. The unguaranteed paycheque is a constant cause for pressure and will likely seep into the rest of your life whether you like it or not.

2) Athletics. There is a huge committment and a toll on the rest of your life when you chose to live a life of athletics. Even if you do work for a “company” as a professional athlete for a large team, the requirement to travel, play, recover, all takes its toll on you physically and mentally nevermind your family.

3) Military memebers. Finally there is your miltiary member, who sacrifies a lot and is expected to, at the end of the day walk into the darkness if required to do so, as a part of their job. Thrilling to me, but not seen, understood, or appreciated the job of a military member is optimally all three, a huge impact on their families no doubt. Shake their hands say thanks.

You Canadian Brother.
